Mark Pollock, M.D
Mark Pollock, M.D., pathologist with clinical Pathology Associates and medical director of laboratories at Hendrick Medical Center, retired in December 2017, after almost two decades of pathology practice in Abilene.
Dr. Pollock grew up in Houston, Texas, as well as Minnesota. A graduate of the University of Texas Medical School in Galveston, he was a pathology resident in Houston and did a fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. After practicing in a large Dallas hospital, he came to us in Abilene looking forward to a West Texas lifestyle, the quality school system, ten minute rush hour, and the other amenities of Abilene living.
Mark was an imposing man, standing over 6 feet 6 inches tall, but he had a quiet and gentle manner and was a wonderful and empathetic listener. He enjoyed his land just south of Abilene, working on his tractor, his Labrador Retriever, classical music, and certain television series on PBS. He recently obtained his Ham radio license.
We will miss his excellent sense of humor and his sudden chuckle when he was amused, as well as his expertise in the practice of pathology. He looks forward to spending time with his wife, daughter, and new granddaughter. He will be missed.
